Topic: Optimal Recovery of Iron Ore Values from Low Grade Ore Through Reduction Roasting Process – Case Study
Abstract: In this study, reduction roasting followed by low-intensity magnetic separation were used to upgrade iron ore tailing having low Fe content from BMM Ispat in Bellary Karnataka, India.
BMM Ispat had accumulated 3 million tonnes of iron ore tailing over a period of time having Iron (Fe) content 40-52% and Silica (Si) above 15%.The work aimed to maximize the recovery of iron values by upgrading to a high-grade product suitable for pelletisation and sintering on commercial scale.
