Rajesh Kabra

Managing Director, Raghav Productivity Enhancers Limited, India

Mr Rajesh Kabra has more than 25 years of experience in the steel and ramming mass industry. Started his career with trading of Steel & ferro alloys and then ventured into manufacturing of silica ramming mass in 2009. He is the Managing Director of RPEL, the world’s largest manufacturer of silica ramming mass. He has transformed the induction furnace based steel industry through innovative lining solutions which increase their productivity by 5-8% at Zero Electricity Cost.

Topic: How to increase productivity of steel at zero electricity cost in induction furnaces by using the latest innovation in silica ramming mass

Abstract: We have developed a product which is a breakthrough innovation in increasing the lining life of a patching through ramming mass. We guarantee 25% more lining life (number of heats) than any other silica ramming mass in the world. The increased heats help in reducing the patching cost directly. When the lining of ramming mass erodes gradually, more liquid metal output is generated through the furnace. Our material is designed to sustain longer at such expanded state of furnace thereby allowing maximum liquid metal output at the latter heats. This extra production is without any additional electricity cost and results in massive savings to an induction furnace. A 25 Ton induction furnace increases their productivity by 4% and saves more than ₹2.5 crores per annum by using our ramming mass.
